In addition to music theory and studio classes on Saturday afternoons, Opus 1 Prep students have access to a range of elective classes. Electives rotate each semester, with multiple classes meeting simultaneously to address a variety of interests. Examples of elective classes include:

• Cello/violin/viola choir

• Electronic Music

• Eurhythmics 

• College audition preparation for seniors

• Introduction to acoustics and luthierie 

• History of the string quartet

• Fiddle class

• Special topics for parents

Students register for electives at the start of each semester.
