Chamber Music School
Opus 1’s Chamber Music School operates on a trimester basis: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each trimester is made up of approximately eleven weeks. Within that time, students receive eight coachings, rehearsal time, a masterclass opportunity, mentorship potential, and a final performance. The eight coachings are chosen based on the weeks with the maximum attendance. Students are extended one excused absence per trimester.
Below is an example of a typical trimester schedule. Exact dates will be communicated upon enrollment and will be based on specific group availability.

Preparatory Program
Opus 1’s Preparatory Program operates on a semester basis: Fall and Spring. Each semester consists of 15 weeks and follows the academic calendar. As part of Opus 1 Prep, students participate in weekly studio class, monthly recitals, music theory and ear training classes, and electives.
Opus 1 Prep is designed to work in tandem with Opus 1 Chamber Music. Students are encouraged to participate in both Prep and Chamber Music to create a wholistic music education experience. Below is a sample day schedule for a student participating in both Prep and Chamber Music.

Saturday with morning chamber music
9:00am - 11:00am: Chamber Music
11:00am - 12:00pm: Break
12:00pm - 1:00pm: Elective
1:00pm - 2:00pm: Music Theory
2:00 - 3:00: Studio Class or Prep Recital
Saturday with afternoon chamber music
12:00pm - 1:00pm: Elective
1:00pm - 2:00pm: Music Theory
2:00 - 3:00: Studio Class or Prep Recital
3:00pm - 4:00pm: Break
4:00pm - 6:00pm: Chamber Music
If students have time off in their schedule, we provide a supervised social room where students (and parents!) can spend time, do homework, eat, and take part in occasional structured activities.
